Walkabout to the Malecón de la Ave. España, Los Mameyes and Home (told by Inteliperra)
We woke early this morning so momma said we should do a big walk-about. We were excited to see where it would take us. She also promised that we would stop for a snack so that made it even better. We ended up walking 4.26 miles / 6.85 kilometers. It sure felt like much longer than that.

Buenagente was so excited that he had to lie on the balcony with his head looking out to the street while he waited for momma to get ready.
We were off! We walked down Ave. España while the sun was just starting to come up. We walked a little way along the paths near Punta Torrecilla until they disappeared and we had to return to Avenida España.
We walked along the paths on the Malecón de la Ave. España along the Caribbean Sea. Weaving in and out of picnic tables and many Little Caesars Pizza boxes left from the night before. We snatched a few pizza crusts before momma caught us..jejej.
We almost made it to Agua Splash Caribe but we wanted some water. We got thirsty. It was going to be a long walk to get home so we decided to head towards home, taking the long way back. We turned onto Ave. 26 de Enero and headed towards Los Mameyes and home.
We were on Ave. Eduardo Brito walking past all the fancy houses when we spotted something really strange behind the gates of the rich places. PIGS! Big fat grunting PIGS!
Buenagente went crazy! He never saw pigs close up before. He was barking at the pigs. Those big fat things were just standing there staring at us. Buenas bark did not phase them at all.
We got off the main street and headed into the barrio looking for a Colmado to get some water. After we had a drink it was my turn to take control of the walk and lead the way.
We went down all these little Callejones (Alleys). I had never been to that area before but I knew just where to go. Don’t ask me how, but I must have smelled something familiar. Even though my nose is always stuffed up because of my allergies my sense of smell still works just fine.
I took momma and Buena through some really narrow paths between houses. We ended up on Calle Terminal Esso in the center of Los Mameyes. We all knew where we were then.
Momma finally kept her promise to get us something to eat. We went to one of our favorite bakeries and had a hot stuffed sandwich. If you look closely at the picture you can see mommas reflection in the glass.
We waited for our sandwich and enjoyed the smells of the pastries. We stayed right where we were, laying on the floor, and the three of us enjoyed our sandwich. It was really good.
We walked past OMAMET, the weather place. Buena had to stop and say hi to his guachiman friend.
We finally made it to our home sweet home. Momma gave us our daily raw bone. We relaxed on the sofa while momma made herself some coffee and got to work on the web site updates.
It was a good morning. But, we are so tired. I hope I lost a few pounds..jejej.
