Last night was a good night that turned into a bad night then changed again to a good night. Needless to say, I am tired this morning from all the good – bad ness.
First I was surprised when Buenagente slept in the bed with me. He does not like sleeping in bed with me. I put him in the bed and within 5 minutes he jumps down. Last night was the exception.
I got Buena to come into bed and he laid on the pillow and he fell asleep right away. Inteliperra was in her spot under the bedside table snoring away.
Next time I woke Buena was in the same spot and Teli was in bed at my feet. I was squished into a small spot on the edge of the bed while the kids had hogged up more than their fair share of spáce.
I got out of bed to take care of business, it was around 2AM. The floor was soaked! The toilet was leaking. The bathroom, hallway and some of the storage room was flooded. I wiggled the tank and got the water stopped from dripping out onto the floor. Then I had to mop up all the water.
All done and back to bed.
I squeezed in on my little spot. I reached over to pat Buenas neck and felt a bump. A TICK! I had to get out of bed. Remove the tick and then do a flea spray and body check. Buena just laid there and didn’t fuss at all.
Back to bed.
Teli had only moved a little during all the commotion. She was laying on her back snoring. She also wakes every so often to cough, sneeze and shoot boogers because of her allergies.
Buena was sleeping again. I tried to get comfortable. Somehow, even though they moved very little, my sheet got underneath them. I had to work my sheet out from under both of them. I was considering moving to the sofa to sleep but then I don’t often get to sleep with both dogs so I endured.
It took a while to get comfortable in the tiny cramped spot the kids left for me. Also, I am very picky about my sheet placement. Either I sleep completely sheetless or the sheet has to come up over my ear and then down under my chin so my nose and mouth are exposed. It was not easy getting everything positioned just right but I finally got back to sleep.
Next time I woke it around 6:30AM. There was brightness coming from behind the curtain. It was morning. It was raining. I made it through the night.
The dogs were still in their same positions and I was still partially hanging off the side of the bed.
I rolled out of bed to start the day and to get ready to take the kids outside for morning romp in the rain. They did not budge. They stayed in bed until they heard me put my shoes on.
If Buenagente decides to start sleeping in the bed more often I will have to show him where he can sleep and give him his designated space. Inteliperra knows the rules because she sleeps in the bed, off and on, almost every night. Boundaries need to be set so I can get a decent nights sleep and still cuddle my babies.
I love my kids.
