I haven’t written much of anything for a while. Not much exciting is happening but I figure that at least I should add a few pictures. My much-loved kids, The Dominican Dog Blog dogs, Buenagente, Inteliperra and their momma, that’s ME.
Buenagente and Inteliperra like to sit on the balcony bench I made for them. They are not so patiently waiting for me to get ready to take them out for their walkabout. I so love these dogs.
I always carry treaties with me. They are tiny pieces of meat that I cut off their bones and boil. I don’t get it why all the dogs love the treaties. They are cut so tiny but my kids and many of the street dogs just love getting a treaty from the Dominican Gringa..lol.
A beautiful rainbow over my neighborhood in Los Molinos, Villa Duarte. If you look close you can see another dim rainbow above the bright one. I so love rainbows.
I so love this spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea in the morning as the sun brightens the sky and shines down on the water. This is the view from the Faro Punta Torrecilla, Santo Domingo Este.
I love shadow pictures even though they make me look fatter than I really am. I am a bit overweight but not as blimpy as this picture makes me look..lol. This was taken in front of the Plan de Asistencia Social de la Presidencia on Ave. España. Buenagente, Inteliperra and the blimp that is me.
My addiction – I am a Hot Sauce Addict. I have been for many years. I love Frank’s but now I make my own. It’s more economical. I buy the chilies, usually 1 pound for around RD$40 (that is the cost for 1 bottle of hot sauce). I cook them a bit, blend, strain and whats left is the pulp and wonderful juice. I freeze the smaller portions and mix with vinegar, water and some salt as needed. 1 pound of chilies usually lasts for about 2 to 4 weeks depending.
This is the real Dominican Gringa, Janette. All wrinkled and grey. Buenagente and I are enjoying a little sun.
Have a great day!
