Fishermen Repairing Their Nets

This morning the dogs, Buenagente and Inteliperra, and I had our morning romp but we not go too far from home. We headed down to visit the fishermen of Rio Ozama at the Puente Flotante / Floating Bridge.

The dogs love to go down to the river. After passing the entrance to the Marina the sidewalk is littered with dead fish and bait left over from fishermen on the walk. Teli and Buena love to stop, sniff and grab a bite of the nastiness if I can’t stop them in time.

Today one of our fishermen buddies was mending his net in preparing for a day of fishing on the Caribbean Sea at the mouth of Rio Ozama. We had to stop and watch his skillful mending. He had the shuttle moving fast while tying each knot with speed and skill. I watched in awe.
