Diary – Abduction of Billy Jay

These stories from days past are someday going to be in my book if and when I ever figure out how to write one.

March 29, 1984. My son, who at this time was named (William) Billy Jay David, was abducted by his father, William S. David, in Valencia (Middlesex), Butler County, Pennsylvania. Bill David then drove to Clinton to the convenience store, The Hitching Post, to continue the terror.

My X husband had Billy Jay for 1 week, having taken him by force from my arms. It was terrible. The worst week I had ever spent until the time I found out my son had died on October 25, 2003.

These are some of the newspaper articles I kept about the abduction and my sons return. There are more articles about the trial but I will post those some other time.

Billy Jays birthday is coming up on June, 15. He would have been 35 years old. I miss him every minute of every day.

At times I think I see him walking in a group of people. Then I remember that he cannot walk the streets. Sometimes I think I can still hear him calling my name, ”Mom”, in the special way he said it. Then I remember he is not here to call my name any longer.

Even though he is not here physically he is always with me and in my thoughts.

Memories of my son, William Jay Keys, on Flicker. I love you my baby boy..always.

  1. Hello, Ms Janette , how did your son die? He seems so healthy and full of joy in his pictures, that is hard to believe he is dead. Sorry for your loss.

    Hugs.
