We were doing our afternoon walk around the neighborhood like we always do. Usually, in the evening we just walk the streets of Los Molinos, not going too far. We let the kids pet us and share our treaties with the neighborhood dogs.
On this day one of our neighbors called us over and asked if we wanted some meat. Of course, we said yes. She came out with a big ole heavy bag of sausages and pork! I mean it was a big heavy bag all frozen and smelling heavenly.
Both of us, Buenagente and me, Inteliperra, were excited.
The next morning after it all defrosted momma started to prepare it just for us. She boiled the pork. It smelt so good. All those pork smells filling the house and our noses. Oh, it was heavenly. Even Bugger, the neighborhood cat, smelt it and had to come and sit on the windowsill waiting for his handouts.
After it was cooked momma let it cool a bit in the window. She saved the broth for us to put on our nasty dry dog food to make it un-nasty. Momma calls the meat broth greasies. We love greasies on our kibble.
Then the best part. Momma cut up all that luscious pork meat into small treaty sized pieces and put it in the freezer so we, and all the dogs who are our friends, can have treaties. Wonderful yummy tasty meat treaties.
When momma prepares treaties she always tosses us one every so often as we patiently wait. It is our job to check to make sure all is good and that the meat meets our approval and strict treaty guidelines.
Thank you our neighbor for all this wonderful meat and for many weeks worth of treaties for us all. We love you!
