When there is a storm we do not chase the storm, we hide from it, especially Buenagente. He is such a baby when it comes to storms.
I (Inteliperra) am not really afraid of storms unless it is really nasty. I just go about my normal life and don’t pay attention. Buenagente, on the other hand, is deathly afraid of thunder and lightning. He shakes and tries to hide. He will not eat or drink. He just shakes and shakes. Sometimes we think he might have a heart attack he gets so stressed out.
Momma got some medicine from the vet that will relax him but she only uses it when there is a really big storm because it lasts a long time and Buena really is drugged out of it.
Anti-stress dog meds from Amazon.
Oh, you need to be introduced to Sweety. This is a dog that Island Life Street Dog Rescue helped. My momma helps with the group. Sweety is a dog that lives in the street in our neighborhood and she came in heat. She was driving us all crazy with all the male dogs following her and fighting so momma and Chris (one of the other people with Island Life) got a vet and got her spayed.
Momma let her come into the house right after her surgery stay the night and she came in yesterday during the short storm. She was outside in the street when the storm started so momma got her and brought her inside.
The storm only lasted a short time which was a good thing for Buenagente. During the storm I was sleeping like normal in my favorite spot.
Buena flipped out and found the squishiest place he could. In the second bedroom sandwiched between 2 shelves on a box of leather behind the laundry basket.
Sweety was near the front door. She ate her dinner then fell asleep in her food dish.
Oh, by the way, Sweety is looking for her very own family to adopt. She is so sweet, playful and friendly. If your interested in giving her a home please let us know at jan@colonialzone-dr.com. If you have facebook you can see her entire story and pictures at Island Life Street Dog Rescue
