Friend From A Stranger

Today mom decided to take Bertha and I to the Fortaleza Ozama for a little change. She always likes to keep me guessing and sometimes I do not like it but she means well. She said she saw the beautiful sun rise (she always takes pictures of the sun coming up) and decided to go to the Fortaleza Ozama instead.

Bertha and I just walked right in the big door in the front of the place. Mom had to stand there and wait a few minutes because there was a man getting washed in the place where they do outside and she did not want to bother them. It did not bother me at all. I could care less if humans are taking a bath or not. I just wanted to play.

Finally mom got the OK and she came in to join us playing. Bertha and I were running around having a good ole time when 3 new dogs came into the courtyard. The big black dog, I think his name is Pipo and I also think he is a Black Lab, is a dog I always try to play with. I get all excited when I see him and try hard to play with him. I have also jumped at the red dog names Shine. The other one I never messed with before.

I think I sort of have a secret crush on Pipo. Mom says I am just like a little kid when they like someone they pinch, punch and hit the other. Could this be why I am always aggressive with Pipo? He is pretty handsome.

When Pipos mom saw me running toward him she got nervous. Mom told her to just let the dogs do what they do. I was barking and jumping at first but I realized that they were nice so we became friends. It took them awhile to understand that I like to bite necks. I do not mean harm by biting necks. It is just what I do. I am a neck biter and that’s that. Sometimes they get angry with me when I am just trying to play and I just do not understand.

We were running in the tall grass and just enjoying the freedom. Pipo was after the other dog whos name I cannot remember. She liked it too. I think she will be having puppies in a few months and Pipo will be the proud papa.

I am so glad the new guys came into the Fort today. It was nice finally getting to know them without their leashes on. Maybe now when I see my big black friend, Pipo, we will get to play more.
