Medeas is a work that shows events and situations specific universally to women, inspired by history, myths and their struggles. Three actresses will embody variations of the same woman. Medeas is a survivor of the stifling atmosphere of discrimination and social marginalization.

El Centro Dominico-Alemán será el escenario, del 19 al 21 de octubre del 2012 para que la Fundación Teatro Tripode presente la propuesta Teatral Medeas bajo la Dirección de Javich Peralta y la producción de Ruth Emeterio.

Medeas una obra que nos muestra hechos y situaciones propias de la mujer universal, esta puesta inspirada en la historia, mitos y luchas encarnad
as por la Medea Mitológica, la Medea Latina, la Dominicana y todas las Medeas que aun sobreviven para contarnos, de cara al espejo su realidad.
En esta puesta en escena se ha buscado una Dramaturgia que tocara nuestras realidades como nación, encontradas en las obras Variaciones para Medea del Dramaturgo Hamlet Bodden y Cadenas de Diogenes Lamarche.
Tres actrices encarnaran variaciones de una misma mujer, las que correrán caminos intentando despertar del letargo en que están sumergidas, Medeas es una sobreviviente de la atmosfera asfixiante de la discriminación y la marginalidad social.

En esta obra intervienen las Actrices Robelitza Pérez, Aileen Said Ceballos, Nicol Ciprian Edouard y el Actor Virgilio Burgos.

The Association of Art Critics (Acroarte) today announced nominees Cassandra Sunday 2012/ La Asociación de Cronistas de Arte (Acroarte) anunció hoy domingo los nominados al Casandra 2012.

The Casandra Awards are to celebrate and nominate the best of the best in the entertainment industry in Dominican Republic. The announcement for the entertainers vying for the prestigious Casandra were announced Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 6:00 pm

This years show will be hosted by the charismatic comedians Cuquín Victoria and Felipe Polanco Boruga.

( Updated on Tuesday March 13) The artists performing in this years awards are many. There will be a musical tribute to Wilfrido Vargas for his 40 years in the performing arts. Also performing will be Zechariah Ferreiras, Miriam Cruz, Melymel, The Materialist, Victor Manuelle, Daddy Yankee, Gloria Trevi, Natalia Jimenez and the Cirque Eloize.

Casandra Awards are organized by the Association of Art Critics (Acroarte), sponsored by the Dominican National Brewery and will be broadcast live on Tuesday, March 13 with the pre-show hoopla at 7PM with the show scheduled to start at 9:00 pm, through Canal Telemicro 5. A good place to watch the live show anywhere in the world is on the Premios Casandra – En Vivo and internationally by Telemicro International/ Los Premios Casandra son organizados por la Asociación de Cronistas de Arte (Acroarte), con el patrocinio de la Cervecería Nacional Dominicana y serán transmitidos en vivo, el martes 13 de marzo, a las 9:00 de la noche, a través de Telemicro Canal 5, e internacionalmente por Telemicro Internacional.

This prestigious award is named after Altagracia Casandra Damirón Santana born in March 1919. In 1984 the Foundation of ACROARTE adopted the name of Casandra Damirón to be the name of their yearly awards for artistic excellence. More information about Casandra Damiron here.
