Godspell is coming to Santo Domingo at the Palacio de Bellas Artes on Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9, September 2012 at 8:30PM.

Haffet Saba and Joyce Roy announced they will be bringing this special musical to Dominican Republic. The actors include Solanyi Gomez, Maria de Marchena, Oscar Garcia, Luis Jose Geronimo, Carlos Ortega, Maria de Lourdes Martinez, Mavel Paulino, Carlos Sousa, Leticia Rojas, Ariel Ramos and Natacha Rojas
Originally conceived and directed John Michael Tebelak the 2 act musical is based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew. This unique play includes many types of theater including clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics and vaudeville. All while bring the parables of Jesus Christ to life in a very unique manner. The original musical opened first Off Broadway May 1971. The musical score by Stephen Schwartz is packed full of loved songs one of the most popular being “Day By Day.” Other favorites include “Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well” “All For The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side”. The original cast album reached #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972.
