This special concert is to raise money to help pay for the medical treatment of their friend Mike Romero, one of the most important and popular radio announcers of rock and pop radio in Dominican Republic. Romero, from La X 102, gave his support and inspiration to help many of the local rock bands.

Boca Chica Gagá won 1st place two times in the National Carnival Parade held in Santo Domingo for Traditional line and the Reality Show/ Tradicional del Desfile Nacional y en el Reality Show. Now they want to celebrate this by having their own celebration Boca Chica style.

This is a video we took at the Gran Carnival in Santo Domingo 2012 of Gaga de Boca Chica Carnaval Dominicano 2012.

Many of the groups coming here will have costumes and masks with marine motifs. There will also be modern dance troupes with choreography and costumes that represent the sea. Troupes from the entire island will be there including Los Lechones from Santiago, Diablos from La Vega, Los Robalagallina from Bani, Gaga de San Luis, Los Guloyas from San Pedro de Macorís, Macaraos from Bonao, Los Pintaos from Barahona, Toros y Civiles from Montecristi, Los Diablos Marinos from Samaná, Los Cachuas from Cabral, Los Alí Babá from Santo Domingo, la Comparsa de Fantasía the winners of the Grand Carnival Gala in Santo Domingo plus there will be local dance troupes.

After the parade there will be entertainment by Diomedes y el Grupo Mío, Marcos Caminero, Roldan y su Banda, Juan Esteban, DJ’s, drums, and to top it off Gaga from Boca Chica/ el Gagá de Boca Chica.

Sunday, July 15 is the official arrival day with registrations and measurements.
Monday, July 16 is the practice race and opening ceremony.
Tuesday, July 17 through Wednesday, July 25 the races will be held.
Thursday, July 26 Closing and Prize Giving Ceremony.

The course for the fleet racing will be an outer-loop trapezoid with the finish line at the end of the second windward leg. For the team racing championships the course will be a starboard “S” course.

“Santo Domingo de Fiesta” is the weekly arts program presented by the Secretary of State for Tourism and Culture of Dominican Republic/ las secretarías de Estado de Turismo y de Cultura de República Dominicana featuring prominent national and international artists, as well as the consistent participation of folkloric dancing and music. Sitting in the Colonial City in Plaza Espana in front of the Columbus Palace with the lights shining onto the old restored home is an experience in itself. Listening to Dominican artists and watching the performances in this environment is very special and should not be missed. If you are here in the Zona Colonial this is a must see so you can experience a small taste of the Dominican culture, dance and music.

This folkloric festival has had many well known artists preform on their free stage including Patricia Pereyra, Sonia Silvestre, Rhina Ramírez, Juan Luis Joa, Luchy Vicioso, Ileana Reynoso, Francis Santana, Niní Cáffaro, Miriam Cruz, Roldán, Xiomara Fortuna, Sergio Vargas, el maestro Jorge Taveras y su grupo, Frank Valdez, Vickiana and other well known Dominican musicians for the enjoyment of Dominicans and Tourists alike. They even had a presentation of the Nutcracker Suite with the National Ballet of Spain.

Luis Fonsi, the Salsa stat from Puerto Rico, will be singing the music from his newest album “Tierra firme” plus singing many of his older favorites. He has been making the rounds to throughout South America with great success now he will be here in Dominican Republic.

The Farm Show will be inaugurated on March 7th at 6PM by President Leonel Fernández and The First Lady Margarita Cedeño de Fernández. There will be lots of activities for young and old alike. Take the children so they can see farm animals up close. There will be pavilions dedicated to energy conservation. There will be a milking competition. There will be displays of technological advances. There will be a rodeo at the arena at the Ciudad Ganadera. There will be livestock judging for cattle, goats, rabbits, pigs and sheep.
